Give Us Our Bare Beach Back!!!!

San Onofre Nude Beach - What more can be said about the bare beach situation at San Onofre ? The news has been covered a thousand times in web logs and news articles from around the globe. The internet is packed with narratives about the San Onofre nudity prohibition of 2008 (which didn't actually take enforced effect until the summer of 2010 - the worst summer of my life, which I Will get back to). Well, I do have more to say. A lot more.
For http://gomoanforman.com/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=fkk.buzz/tag/outdoor/page/5/ who aren't familiar with San Onofre, or the situation with the nude beach there, I Have supplied some links at the end of this article that I highly suggest checking out. The people has been dealt an injustice there, one that needs much more media attention than it's received, and it is been my passion since the nudity prohibition to bring this situation to the public's curiosity.
Here is a really brief recap: A small handful of non-elected park rangers and bureaucrats have essentially taken away the right of "The People" to skinny dip at the strand in California. Every bare beach in California, that resides on State Park land, is impacted. Individuals who did this are apparently unaccountable to the general public, and it was done with zero public input or outcry. They even used a technicality to attain their target in appeals court, and they used your tax money to get it done.
Independent from the nudity-prohibition, is the consequence of what can be reached, behind "The People's" backs, by the number of power that's vested in this type of small group of non-elected state employees. Nudity was banned. Alcohol was prohibited. What's going to be next? What ban will the next private dislike or private-moral-code impose upon us? The chances are staggering.
It's been several months since I Have written anything about San Onofre. Truthfully, I Have felt fairly jaded, even bitter, about the nudity ban, and the California State Parks system's treatment of naturists. I'ven't given up the fight, not by a long shot, but I suppose I 've been able to dodge the negative vibe of it all, so that I could have a pleasant summer. So, after I was encouraged to write another post about San Onofre, I was reluctant to take - I needed to, but I didn't. I dreaded the vibe. Bringing the ideas, and pain of it back to the forefront.. I simply wasn't certain if I was prepared to go there. As you can see, I determined that confronting the responsibility of sharing this life-altering injustice, and continuing to propagate the word, trumped my own negative emotions.
I'm not the only individual who feels damage about San Onofre, there are many. I have been a "routine" at San Onofre's nude beach - which we consult with as Trail 6, although it's quite a distance from the legitimate Trail 6 path - for several years. I am also the creator and moderator of the Friends of San Onofre Beach (Official) Facebook group, so I can say with 100% conviction that everybody who has ever appreciated a sand second at Trail 6, even if it was many years ago, even if they remained clothed, desires the nude beach back.
Why can we need it back so awful? Why not just give up, and go to Blacks? Well, as I said, ALL Cal State Park Shores are impacted by the nudity ban. It is now not under fire, but it is easy to see that Blacks is living on borrowed time. Moreover, why should all the Los Angeles and Orange County people need to drive all the way to San Diego, when we have a perfectly great naked beach at San Onofre?
Alright, maybe we should just discontinue our bitching and wear garments to the sand. The people who are accountable for the nudity ban believe that is a practical option. They do not understand why we like to skinny dip in the first place. They feel that being unclothed at a sand, even one as remote as

Trail 6, should be a crime, and they have now made it so. For us unclothed beach lovers, however, wearing clothing is most definitely not a good option. For over thirty years we have all been enjoying the naked beach at San Onofre in perfect harmony with the law, the rangers, the general public, the military and nature.

The San Onofre nude beach regulars have worked hard over the years to protect their cherished territory: Keeping the plage free of trash, self-policing the sand, creating the FOSOB group and offering their time to hand out flyers and educating newbies on naked beach etiquette (no sex, no cameras, etc.), working with the rangers to make sure newcomers were aware of the sand rules (no tents or glass, etc), reporting the occasional offense, pursuing off perverts and hidden camera voyeurs, etc., etc..
Why is the nude beach at San Onofre so "Cherished", you might ask?
First, you must realize there are no other naked beaches in all of Southern California's Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Variable in the residents of the inland counties of Riverside and San Bernardino, you have a strand-using population base of nearly eighteen million people. That number includes a hell of a lot of naturists and naked beach assistants, and the bare beach goers from that enormous population base have been relying on San Onofre's naked beach as their only nude beach, within a realistic journey distance for ordinary weekend naked beach visits.
Second, Location location location! The remote, hike-in, dead-end, out-of-the-spotlight place of San Onofre's Trail 6 (T6) naked beach make it THE perfect unclothed beach location.

Other things which make San Onofre's bare beach so unique and specific are: good surf, warm summer water, gorgeous cliff & oil rig-free ocean scene, warm friendly people, camping, and a close proximity to the extremely trendy town of San Clemente - where lots of San Onofre visitors like to hang out and party in the evening after a sand day.
I have barely touched on the folks, as well as the vibe. You get to be a pretty tight-knit group of fun loving unclothed beach friends when you've been calling T6 your "home from home" for as long as many of the regulars have. Some of us have literally grown up there. I've been going there on and off since the early eighties; many of my T6 buddies out-date me. Everyone is having an enjoyable time every time you see them. The nudies at T6 have become a large strand family, surfing together, playing volleyball, frisbee, playa golf, sunning, camping, BBQ's, and simply hanging out with pals.
San Onofre wasn't merely a unclothed beach, it was a lifestyle. The greatest lifestyle most of us regulars could ever conceive of. Our lives away from the sand were centered around our life at the playa. Sure most of us also see naked resorts and hotsprings, but it's the beach we all crave. And you'd be hard pressed to find an improved group of folks.
I have a lot of amazing memories of T6, from world class sunsets, to stealing credit for constructing the sand route over the stone from my buddy.
